You are cursed! But you don't have to be:)
The word curse is defined as “the expression of a wish that misfortune, evil, doom, etc., befall a person, group, etc.
When most people think of the word curse, they usually associate it with some ancient ritual like voodoo, but curses are alive and well today. As a matter of fact you might be possibly putting curses on yourself on a regular basis.
One of the most popular curses today is the “NO” curse. Putting out to the world and to yourself that you can’t or are incapable of doing something or simply limiting yourself to the possibility of enjoying life or trying something new. Some of you may be saying to yourselves “it’s just a word but the word “no” has detrimental effects to your emotions, memory, feelings, sleep, appetite as well as other things.
When I find thoughts of doubt beginning to creep inside of my head, one of the simplest ways that I have found to reassure myself of my capability is to simply look around at all of the amazing things human beings have created. There have been several times throughout history that we have taken something that has seemed impossible and brought it about. Such as the Wright brothers building and flying the first successful airplane or Alexander Graham Bell creating the first practical telephone. We are all capable of achieving amazing things. I believe Henry Ford put it best saying “whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.” When we gain control of our internal dialog there is nothing that we are incapable of.
Make it a regular practice to regulate the kind of thoughts you allow to affect you. One easy way to keep your mind on the right track is to create a series of list. Things like a gratitude list to remind you of the things that are precious in your life. You can also create a few to-do list. They can be extremely handy, especially if you often find yourself becoming scatter brained while trying to accomplish too many things at one time.
Curses only have the power that you choose to give them. Take control of your life by staying optimistic, keeping your thoughts and actions kind & productive, and staying focused on the achievement of your goals.
